O iPad catalisou uma nova abordagem metodológica na nossa escola, inspirando-nos a lançar o projeto de transição digital, RibaDigital, no qual todos os membros da comunidade educativa encaram a tecnologia como uma ferramenta para inovar e melhorar as oportunidades de aprendizagem para todos. Criámos um grupo de mentores digitais, responsáveis por modelar a integração entre tecnologia e pedagogia, inspirando os professores a desenvolverem uma série de desafios pedagógicos que visam promover a autonomia dos alunos, bem como a sua literacia digital e um conjunto de competências interpessoais fundamentais para colaborar e prosperar no mundo global de hoje.
A partir dos desafios pedagógicos, evoluímos para diferentes projetos onde a tecnologia capacita os alunos a assumirem a responsabilidade pela sua aprendizagem, escolhendo as ferramentas mais adequadas para colaborar e expressar-se de forma crítica e criativa. Alguns exemplos incluem:

From the pedagogical challenges we evolved into different projects where technology empowers students to take ownership of their learning, choosing the best tools to collaborate and express themselves critically and creatively. Some examples are:
Technology supports a knowledge and development network, where everyone can imagine new ways of learning.
Research on students’ wellbeing and academic success is a common practice in our school. We collected data on the perceived impacts of the iPad and the results show it contributed to students’ motivation, inclusion and access to knowledge. We have also designed an analytics system that enables us to monitor and assess the acquisition of digital literacy and soft skills among students, at a macro, meso and micro level. Results show that there has been significant progression in developing these skills since the introduction of the iPad, which contributes to a culture of equity and diversity where everyone can learn.
